The Renault Master Z.E. is the electric version of the Master, aimed primarily at fleets running last-mile distribution services in a city. It gains the Z.E. expertise of Renault, European leader in electric vehicles, while maintaining all the qualities that have made Master a benchmark in the heavy van sector. Highlights of the new Renault Master Z.E.: Equipped with a 33kWh battery which was co-developed by Renault and LG Chem. It features a major innovation: increased energy density obtained by improving the chemistry of the battery cells. Fitted with the R75, a motor of advanced energy efficiency, with an output of 57kW/76hp, inherited from the Renault ZOE. Nissan NV400 gets new engine

The Nissan NV400 engine lineup has increased as part of a mid life refresh. The range of dCi engines has grown to five, offering more performance and greater refinement. But despite the power increases, fuel economy is actually better than before. All have a common base – the 2.3-litre common rail/direct injection, four-cylinder, 16-valve turbo diesel developed by Alliance partner Renault. A pair of single turbo units produce 110hp/285Nm (previously 100hp) and 125hp/310Nm and these are joined by a pair of newly developed Twin Turbo units, developing 135hp/340Nm and 165hp/360Nm. Also available is a 150hp/350Nm version of the engine that has a variable geometry single turbo and is available only with a robotised semi-automatic gearbox. Nissan e-NV200 Rapid-Charging Electric Vans now available to lease

Fiat Professional has announced UK details for the sixth generation of its best-selling Ducato, which is available to order now priced from £19,995 – up by £350 over the outgoing model. As announced last month, the latest Ducato goes on sale alongside sister models the Peugeot Boxer and Citroën Relay focused on robustness/reliability, efficiency/low running costs and new high-tech content. Fiat unveils revised Ducato van

Fiat has taken the wraps off a revised version of the Ducato, which will be sold under the Fiat Professional LCV brand this summer. The new Ducato offers two cabin trims – Classic or Techno – offering different levels of refinement and equipment. New seats are claimed to offer car-like comfort levels on all models, while other enhancements include large new cup holders and a new, segment-exclusive (shared with suster vans the Peugeot Boxer and Citroen Relay)  Multifunction Tablet Holder which can safely secure any one of a variety of devices such as smartphones and tablets, as well as normal pads of A4 paper. FTA launches weather warning system for fleet managers

With weather reports of snow and ice on the way, the FTA (Freight Transport Association) is offering up-to-date information on traffic and weather conditions that might affect transport operators. FTA’s traffic service operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week, providing vital amber and red winter weather alerts. Daily updates give information on UK road traffic and weather conditions affecting freight operations, with additional alerts on severe incidents. There are also advance warnings of any severe weather forecasts issued by the Met Office. Further information is available on the FTA website . The FTA website also contains advice for managers and drivers on dealing with poor weather conditions, such as the importance of operators ensuring vehicles are properly kitted out for wintry conditions.
