Fleetdrive help businesses get smart about workplace EV charging

To accelerate the UK’s transition to ultra-low emission vehicles, Fleetdrive Electric, the sustainable vehicle leasing specialists, introduce ‘Crowd Charge’, a smart electric vehicle charging solution designed specifically with business users in mind. Launched at the edie LIVE 2017 event at Birmingham NEC this week, the bespoke charging solution enables Fleetdrive Electric to provide clients with the complete EV fleet package – a unique, easy to use system for introducing, implementing and managing EV’s at the workplace. Providing workplace charging can effectively double the range of a pure electric vehicle and therefore can significantly increase the potential number of zero emission drivers at any business. It makes sense that when an electric vehicle is stationary for a period of time, it should be charging. Workplace car parks therefore present the perfect opportunity for businesses to support the use of electric vehicles and enable their employees…

Have your say on London’s Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ)

With the recent announcement of the introduction of the ULEZ in the central London congestion charging zone beginning 8 April 2019, approximately 17 months earlier than the original start date of 7 September 2020, the Mayor has opened a further consultation on the proposals to improve air quality. The Mayor is also proposing to expand the ULEZ across Greater London for larger vehicles in 2020, and up to the North and South Circular roads for cars and vans in 2021. Other proposals are for the required ULEZ emission standard for diesel vehicles to include particulate matter (PM) to align with national standards. Find further details and comment on these proposals on the Transport for London website. The ULEZ would replace the £10 T-Charge, which is due to start in October this year. The T-charge (also known as the Emissions Surcharge) will run in addition to the Congestion Charge and use the same operating hours (Monday to Friday 7am-6pm), meaning that it will now cost £21.50 to drive a pre-Euro 4 vehicle in the zone.
