Payment of Parking fines and Penalties

We have designed our Fleet Administration service to reduce your bills as well as your paperwork. As of 1st October 2017, we will be dealing efficiently with vehicle related fines for parking, speeding and other traffic infringements so there is less chance that you will incur extra charges for late or missed payments. Driving your lease vehicle abroad this Summer?

If you intend to travel abroad using your lease vehicle you will require a ‘Vehicle On Hire’ (VE103) certificate which entitles you to drive the vehicle in any EU member state. All UK motorists travelling abroad in a vehicle must carry the original Vehicle Registration Document (V5). If your vehicle is leased from Fleetdrive we hold the V5 at our head office, meaning that you need a Vehicle on Hire Certificate (VE103), which is the recognised alternative to the V5 document. A VE103 contains details of the vehicle taken from the V5, along with the name and address of the hirer and enables the authorities to verify that the person driving the vehicle has permission to do so. The VE103 is the only legal substitute for the registration document (V5). Photocopies of the V5 or letters of authority are not accepted. It is the…

EV Charge Points at Motorway Services to be mandatory

EV Charge points will be required by law at motorway service areas and large fuel retailers under new legislation in the Automated and Electric Vehicles Bill. The Queen’s speech revealed that the installation of public charge points for electric vehicles, as well as a set of common technical and operational standards, are required to ensure that EV public charging is convenient to access and works seamlessly right across the UK. The Government says it also plans to extend compulsory motor vehicle insurance to cover the use of automated vehicles, to ensure compensation claims continue to be paid quickly, fairly and easily, in line with longstanding insurance practice. The provisions would apply to England, Wales and Scotland. Fleetdrive Electric have welcomed the news as charging infrastructure has been a barrier to EV adoption for a large percentage of the population that are unable to charge…

Summer heat takes its toll on windscreens

Windscreens take the Summer heat as the UK experiences temperatures of 30°C. With the hot weather set to continue, and motorists take to their cars to enjoy the UK sunshine, it is increasingly important that drivers prepare their cars for long journeys, as well as themselves. Families often ensure that they and their kids are ready for hours on the road with food, drink and games prepared, but some forget about their own car’s needs. If care is not taken beforehand, overheating, increased debris, poor visibility and other problems caused by the intensely hot sunshine could have implications for the condition of the car and safety on the road. If your windscreen is already damaged, the hot weather can make it worse. Simple steps to prepare the windscreen, fluid levels and wheels, can make all the difference to being safe on the road this…

Fleetdrive help businesses get smart about workplace EV charging

To accelerate the UK’s transition to ultra-low emission vehicles, Fleetdrive Electric, the sustainable vehicle leasing specialists, introduce ‘Crowd Charge’, a smart electric vehicle charging solution designed specifically with business users in mind. Launched at the edie LIVE 2017 event at Birmingham NEC this week, the bespoke charging solution enables Fleetdrive Electric to provide clients with the complete EV fleet package – a unique, easy to use system for introducing, implementing and managing EV’s at the workplace. Providing workplace charging can effectively double the range of a pure electric vehicle and therefore can significantly increase the potential number of zero emission drivers at any business. It makes sense that when an electric vehicle is stationary for a period of time, it should be charging. Workplace car parks therefore present the perfect opportunity for businesses to support the use of electric vehicles and enable their employees…
